Default Control where spirits attack?

Is there any way to control where a ritualists spirits attack?
Its kind of annoying to be in the middle of a arena match and the person I want them to attack, is only getting hit by me, and my spirits are attacking other people.

CTRL + clicking a foe will cause everyone in your group such as henchman, heroes, minions, spirits to attack the same person.
it can also be used with other playeres to indicate who you are attacking. Press T to switch to the one other people are attacking.

CTRL indicates alot of stuff to your group

This doesn't always work perfectly with spirits in my experience. Most of the time a few of them will still attack other foes.

In my experience it CTRL + clicking on a foe doesn't help at all when it comes to spirits.

Once they've targeted someone they'll attack it while they can or until you cast summon spirits or something like this, then they'll sometimes change targets.

I do not believe it's possible to "target" an opponent for minions or spirits to attack, they pick their targets individually and attack it until death is my experience.

I believe Summon Spirits caused spirits to target the same foe, though you wouldn't be able to choose their target for them.

From what I've noticed, AI naturally target whoever you are attacking. Using the targeting system (Ctrl+space or Ctrl+double click) helps improve the chances of this happening. But as said, it won't always be absolute.

Unlike Henchmen and Heroes, Minions and Spirits attack upon aggro - henchmen and heroes attack upon you attacking (not using skills that target enemies, got to be space or click on the enemy) or a good amount of damage done to them.Without attacking yourself, minions and spirits attack whatever is closest. At least, this is in my experience.

In my experience (that is WITHOUT extensive testing) the hex painful bond seems to increase the chance of a target being attacked by your spirit(s).

it's probably because you ntocie it more due to another figure popping up each hit.

Anyway, with the incredibly bugged signet of spirits they mostly ignore your target and hit random foes with their buggy attacks.
You may notice that henchmen will not always immediately move on to your target,so I think the spirits share something like this as well as the delay between changing a pets target.

It really doesn't, though you might be noticing that due to the fact that it also hexes nearby foes as well, so if they're properly mobbed you'll get half (or more) of the mob hexed at once.

But I usually keep the initial target I hexed targeted and wand them from behind my spirits (in an attempt to direct them) and most of the time it seems that the spirits just do whatever they want.

Now, if their target dies while I'm wanding something else, then about half the time it seems they switch to whatever I'm attacking, but I haven't noticed it happen enough to say it's a habit with the spirits or something they tend to do in general.

This is a good thing, because if it worked on mindless minions and spirits you'd be able to dish out massive damage spikes. This would be OP, minions and spirits would eat a big nerf and everyone would be upset.

Only thing that I can tell you is to learn to wring as much advantage out of positioning and the direction you aggro the monsters from as possible, and make sure that the rest of your team build provides the ability to spike out healers so that your pressure can mop up that much faster.

Minions and spirits don't attack called targets. Sorry man, they're kind of random like that.

This is true. That's the only real thing that I've ever noticed influence the target my spirits attack. Control clicking does absolutely nothing. I definitely wish that Anet would add a feature that would allow Control clicking to determine which target gets attacked, though. That'd be very nice.

No matter what you do, spirits will attack random foes. You can however improve the chances for spirits to attack the same foe by (all are mentioned above):

*casting painful bond
*using Summon Spirits
*using ctrl + space on foe

Your best bet would be to transport your spirits with Summon Spirits outside all aggro save from one foe (make it about longbow range to be sure), then use Painful Bond on that foe and then ctrl + space him. But even then there is no guarantee; some spirits like to stand around and do nothing for a while from time to time.

CTRL + click usually helps the spirits that is not engaged yet in attacking your target. Those already busy wont do much I think.

Nothing really is set in stone on them they leave a lot open for self discovery. I do think they target somewhat if you call targets. Certain ones seem to follow you like shadow song he/she seems to follow your targets (easy to see when the condition hits) but you need to be attacking as well. But the rest seem random. There is also a known bug on signet of spirits that some don’t attack right away. Been doing a lot of solo underworld clears with a spirits been fun.

I did find out about 90% of the time in PVE if I target a foe then use summon spirits to my location the spirits will attack the same foes until it is dead, but after that they just do whatever they want haha

Spirits have longbow range and wont attack till agro'd or you attack something, so the trick is summon them out of range, then wand a target to mark it, they'll usually hit it in unison. Doesn't always work, and after they hit what they want and you have to do it again. It's just kinda lucky that Painful bond is an AoE hex
